The impact of energy and air emissions in a changing economic structure: Input-output approach

Carbon dioxide (CO2 ) emissions are considered as one of the main sources of climate change. The problem recently arises when we want to identify which are the most caused to CO2 emission or even which are the most environmentally harmful sectors. This paper presents an attempt for trying to estimate air emission when changing economic structure. The methodology used in the study is based on Miyazawa’s concept of the inter-relational income multiplier, it was designed to analyse the structure of income distribution by final demands in the standard Leontief’ s system.

Multi-class minimax probability machine

This paper investigates the multi-class Minimax Probability Machine (MPM). MPM constructs a binary classifier that provides a worst-case bound on the probability of misclassification of future data points, based on reliable estimates of means and covariance matrices of the classes from the training data points. We propose a method to adapt MPM to multi-class datasets using the one-against-all strategy. And then we introduce an optimal kernel for MPM for each specific dataset found by Genetic Algorithms (GA) [1]. The proposed method was evaluated on stomach cancer data. The obtained results are better and more stable than for using a single kernel. Tautomeric and conformational properties of dipivaloylmethane

The tautomeric and structural properties of 5-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3-heptanone, (dipivaloylmethane, C(CH3)3C(O)CH2C(O)C(CH3)3) have been studied by means of gas-phase electron diffraction (GED) and quantum chemical calculations (B3LYP and MP2 approximation with different basis sets up to aug-cc-pVTZ). Both, quantum chemistry and GED analyses resulted in the presence of 100(5)% enol tautomer at 296(3)K. Quantum chemical calculations predict the existence of two enol conformers in about equal amounts. In both conformers the enol ring possesses Cs symmetry and they possess different torsional orientations of the two tert-butyl groups. The experimental data refinement results in an enol tautomer, in which the tert-butyl group adjacent to the carbonyl group possesses an intermediate orientation between those in “enol1” and “enol 2” forms (torsional angle is about 30 ), and the tert-butyl group adjacent to the hydroxyl group slightly deviates from orientation in the theore...
